The Buffalo Bandits today announced the team has signed defenseman Matt Spanger and forward Justin Sykes to one-year contracts and forward Coltrane Tyson to a two-year contract. All three deals are pending league approval.

Spanger (6’4”, 207 lbs., 11/27/1992) will return for his eighth season with the Bandits. Over his nine seasons in the NLL, he has posted 52 points (16+36), 399 loose-ball recoveries and 89 forced turnovers. In 2025-26 he registered six points (2+4), 36 loose balls and 10 blocked shots in 12 games. Spanger ranks sixth in blocked shots (34) and seventh in forced turnovers (76) in Bandits history.

The Toronto, Ontario native has tallied seven points (3+4) and 68 loose-ball recoveries in 18 career playoff games and was a member of the Bandits’ three consecutive championships from 2022-23 to 2024-25.

Tyson (6’6”, 205 lbs., 1/8/2002) appeared in two games for the Bandits as a rookie in 2025-26 and recorded one assist and one loose-ball recovery. A native of Burlington, Ontario, Tyson was selected by Buffalo in the second round (21st overall) of the 2025 NLL Entry Draft.

Sykes (6’2”, 190 lbs., 6/21/2021) was selected by Panther City Lacrosse Club in the second round (21st overall) of the 2023 NLL Entry Draft and has played in two career NLL games with the Las Vegas Desert Dogs and the San Diego Seals.
