The Buffalo Bandits today announced the team has signed goaltender Devlin Shanahan to a one-year contract, pending league approval.
Shanahan (6’0”, 177 lbs., 2/10/1999) returns for his fourth season with the Bandits after spending the 2022-23 season as the team’s backup goaltender. Shanahan appeared in three regular-season games for Buffalo last season and finished the season with a 13.56 goals-against average. The Mississauga, Ontario native played 12:57 in goal for the Bandits during the 2023 postseason, recording a 9.27 goals-against average and a .867 save percentage.
Shanahan was selected by the Bandits in the fourth round (43rd overall) of the 2018 NLL Entry Draft. Prior to the 2022-23 season, Shanahan spent the majority of his NLL career on the team’s practice squad. He served as the team’s backup goaltender for four games during the 2021-22 season. Before starting his professional career, Shanahan spent four seasons with the Mimico Mountaineers of the OJALL, posting a 12-6 record with a 7.53 goals-against average and a .639 save percentage.
