The Buffalo Bandits today announced the team has signed goaltender Matt Vinc to a one-year contract, pending league approval.
Vinc (6’1”, 212 lbs., 6/9/1982) finished the 2021-22 season leading the league in wins (14), saves (747) and save percentage (.807). He was one of four goalies to surpass the 1,000 minutes played mark (1,064) during the season and finished fourth in goals against average (10.10) in the NLL. Vinc set career-highs in wins, saves and save percentage while leading the Bandits to a league-best 14-4 regular season record. At the conclusion of the season, he claimed his NLL-record eighth Goaltender of the Year award, marking the eighth time he has earned the honor in the last 12 seasons.
The St. Catharines, Ontario native’s career has spanned 16 seasons, having spent time with the San Jose Stealth, New York/Orlando Titans and the Rochester Knighthawks before signing with the Bandits as a free agent prior to the 2018-19 season. Vinc currently leads all NLL goalies in career wins (133), saves (9,046) and minutes played (13,691). He also holds NLL goaltending playoff records in wins (25), saves (1,377) and minutes played (2,165).
