The Buffalo Bandits today announced the team has signed defenseman Steve Priolo to a two-year deal, pending league approval.
Priolo (6’5”, 227 lbs., 1/15/1989) returns to the Bandits for his 12th campaign with the team after recording five points (1+4) and 63 loose-ball recoveries in eight games during the 2019-20 season. In 2018-19, Priolo finished the year with a new career high in goals (11) and tied his career high in points (26), earning NLL All-Pro Second Team honors and an NLL Defenseman of the Year nomination.
The St. Catharines, Ontario native has totaled 162 points (46+116) in 166 career games with Buffalo, adding 13 points (2+11) in 14 playoff games. He ranks in the top 10 in franchise history in both regular-season games played (166, 5th) and loose balls recovered (958, 4th). Priolo is currently the longest-tenured Bandit on Buffalo’s roster after being selected by the team in the second round (21st overall) in the 2009 NLL Entry Draft.
The Bandits’ captain has also played box lacrosse at the international level, winning a gold medal with Team Canada at both the 2015 and 2019 World Indoor Lacrosse Championships.
