The Buffalo Bandits today announced the team has signed forward Garrett Billings to a one-year deal, pending league approval.
Billings (6’0”, 200 lbs., 4/2/1986) spent the 2018-19 season with the San Diego Seals, recording 83 points (18+65) in 16 regular-season games. He led the Seals and tied for fifth in the NLL with 65 assists and his 83 points were the second-most on the team. Billings tallied two assists in the Seals’ lone playoff game.
The Langley, British Columbia native is a nine-year NLL veteran, having spent time with the Toronto Rock (2010 to 2014), New England Black Wolves (2015) and Vancouver Stealth (2016 to 2017) before joining the Seals last season. In 117 regular-season games, he has totaled 666 points (198+468) and added 49 points (15+34) in 10 career playoff games. He has eclipsed the 100-point mark in three different seasons (2012, 2013, 2014) and earned All-NLL First Team honors in 2012, 2013 and 2014 after being named to the All-Rookie Team in 2010.
Prior to turning pro, Billings played four years of collegiate lacrosse at the University of Virginia (2006 to 2009). He was selected by Toronto with the sixth pick in the 2009 NLL Entry Draft.
