The Buffalo Bandits today announced the team has acquired forward Justin Guterding and defenseman Liam Patten from the Philadelphia Wings in exchange for defenseman Brock Sorensen. The trade also includes a conditional pick exchange in the 2022 NLL Entry Draft. The trade is pending league approval.
Guterding (6’0”, 185 lbs., 3/2/1995) recorded 11 points (3+8) and 10 loose balls in four games as a rookie with the Wings in 2019. In five for Chrome LC during the 2020 season, his 10 goals and 16 points both rank in the top 10 in the PLL.
Before beginning his professional career, the Garden City, New York, native played collegiate lacrosse at Duke University, where he totaled an NCAA-record 212 career goals in 75 games. His 351 NCAA points currently ranks him fifth all-time and his 47-game streak with at least one goal, which encompassed his entire junior and senior seasons, ties as the third-longest in NCAA history.
Patten (6’1”, 195 lbs., 10/8/1996) re-joins the Bandits after making his NLL debut with three points (2+1) in four appearances for Buffalo in 2018. The Barrie, Ontario native has spent the last two seasons with the Wings, appearing in 30 of the expansion team’s 32 games. Through three NLL seasons, he has totaled 16 points (8+8) and 137 loose balls in 34 career contests.
