The Buffalo Bandits today announced the team has signed transition player Joel Matthews to a one-year contract, pending league approval.
Matthews (6’3”, 227 lbs., 2/28/1991) rejoins the Bandits after splitting his NLL career with Buffalo and the Rochester Knighthawks. In 17 career games, Matthews has totaled 18 points (7+11) and 45 loose-ball recoveries in 17 games.
The St. Catharines, Ontario native spent his rookie season (2013-14) with the Bandits and posted two goals in two games for Buffalo. Matthews was selected by the Bandits in the fourth round (31st overall) of the 2012 NLL Entry Draft.
