John Tavares Named Overall Player of the Week

The National Lacrosse League announced today that Buffalo Bandits forward John Tavares has been named the Overall Player of the Week after scoring a game-high nine points (6+3) in Buffalo's 15-11 victory over the Boston Blazers last Saturday.
Tavares scored seven (5+2) of his season-high nine points in the first half of Saturday's game which guaranteed Buffalo a playoff appearance for the seventh-straight season. The six-goal performance made Tavares the second Bandit to eclipse the 40-goal plateau (Mark Steenhuis) on the year. Tavares now has 77 points (42+35) on the season.
