Forward is 11th all-time in NLL scoring

Buffalo Bandits Director of Lacrosse Operations Scott Loffler today announced the team has acquired forward Tracey Kelusky and a third round selection in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft from the Calgary Roughnecks in exchange for Buffalo’s 2011 first round pick. The first round pick was previously acquired from Boston along with the rights to forward Brendan Thenhaus in exchange for Buffalo’s first round pick in the Orlando Titans’ dispersal draft on August 6, 2010.

Kelusky (9/9/1975, 5’8”, 180 lbs.) is a former NLL Rookie of the Year and a two-time NLL Champion. In his 10-year career, he has notched 684 points (324+360) and collected 733 loose balls in 143 regular season games with Calgary, Montreal and Columbus. He ranks 11th all-time in NLL scoring, just 28 points behind Paul Gait. He has added 60 points (34+26) and 55 loose balls in 13 career playoff games.

Last season, Kelusky compiled 64 points (30+34) and 56 loose balls collected in 13 regular season games with the Roughnecks.

Kelusky was selected by the Columbus Landsharks first overall in the 2000 NLL Entry Draft. After a 51-point season (24+27) in which he collected a career-high 98 loose balls, he was named NLL Rookie of the Year. He followed up his impressive debut season with a strong sophomore effort with the Montreal Express, posting a career-high 94 points (44+50) and again collecting 98 loose balls.

When the Express folded following the 2002 season, Kelusky was selected first overall by Calgary in the dispersal draft. In his first season with the Roughnecks, he led the team in scoring with 63 points (37+26). In the 2005 season, he recorded a career-best 50 goals, earning him a selection to the NLL All-Star game in Calgary, in which he was named Most Valuable Player.

Kelusky led the Roughnecks to two NLL Championships during his eight years in Calgary. In 2009, he led the team with nine goals in three playoff games. In 2004, he had seven goals in three games, tying him for the team lead.
