The first camp will take place on Tuesday, July 6 through Thursday, July 8 running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at Nichols School. This camp is open for boys ages 7-18 and girls 10-13. Each participant will be instructed on both the indoor and outdoor lacrosse game with lessons taking place on two state-of-the-art turf fields and an indoor facility. Players are expected to provide their own equipment including stick(s), gloves, helmet, shoulder pads, mouthpiece and footwear (cleats and sneakers). The cost for the camp will be $250 per participant. A $75 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration.
Beginning Sunday, July 11 and running through Thursday, July 15, the second camp will take place at NCCC for boys ages 8-18. NLL Hall of Famer and current NCCC Men’s Head Coach Rich Kilgour will be the camp director. The clinic will focus more on the outdoor lacrosse game and will offer overnight accommodations for campers. Cost for the overnight camper will be $299; and will be $275 for the commuting camper. Registration can be completed online at niagaracc.suny.edu.
Instructors include current Buffalo Bandits Head Coach Darris Kilgour, Canisius College Men’s Head Coach Randy Mearns, 2010 Bandits leading scorer Mark Steenhuis, and Bandits assistant captain Mike Accursi. In addition, other players and coaches will be present throughout the camps.
The goals of these clinics are to provide instruction, direction and lessons that will instill discipline, creativity and the pursuit of excellence in the game of lacrosse.
Registration for both camps include: provided lunch, reversible mesh practice tops, ticket to a 2011 regular season Buffalo Bandits home game, and a chance to win prizes including lacrosse equipment and autographed merchandise.
