The Buffalo Bandits today announced the return of the Jr. Bandits Box Lacrosse League. Starting Nov. 5, youth players will have a chance to participate in a 12-session program coached by current Bandits players, including Josh Byrne and Dhane Smith.
Coaches will educate participants in the rules and basics skills of indoor lacrosse through practices and games. After two sessions of instruction and evaluations, participants will be placed on teams and compete for the league championship in February. Sessions will be held at the Epic Center in Williamsville, New York.
New this year, each game will be officiated by certified box lacrosse referees. Each game of the eight-game schedule will feature either two 20-minute halves or two 25-minute halves, depending on the time slot. This will include a three-minute warmup and three-minute intermission. Stop time will ensue in the final two minutes of the second half for any game that is within three goals.
